Rav Yosef b. Hiyya (or Rav Joseph b. Hiyya Hebrew: רב יוסף בר חייא, read as Rav Yosef bar chiyya; Also known simply as Rav Yosef or Rav Joseph) was a Jewish Amora sage of Babylon, of the third generation of the Amora era. He was a disciple of R. Judah ben Ezekiel, and R. Abaye's teacher, and a scholarly "Bar Plugata"-opponent of Rabbah bar Nahmani ("Rabbah"), the head of the academy of Pumbedita.
