Rawlings Sporting Goods Company is a heavy hitter in baseball equipment. The company makes and distributes equipment and protective gear for baseball, softball, football, basketball, soccer, and volleyball. Rawlings sells through mass merchandisers, sporting goods retailers, and online. The firm licenses its name for an array of merchandise, including apparel, toys, and shoes. Rawlings equipment is used in Major League Baseball (MLB) and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) games, as well as by interscholastic and amateur organizations. It is also the exclusive supplier of baseball helmets to the MLB. In 2007 the company was acquired by consumer products manufacturer Jarden.
