The Raymond S. and Dorothy N. Moore Foundation is a non-profit organization in North Bonneville, Washington. The Moore Foundation is best known for its "Moore formula" educational concept in homeschooling, consisting of study, manual work and community service.[1] The Moore's principal research finding encourages parents not to "subject your children to formal, scheduled study before the ages of 8 to 10 or 12."[2]
In 2002, the Moore Foundation mourned the passing of Dorothy Moore, who helped to pioneer the concept of homeschooling.
Dr. Raymond S. Moore, author of Better Late than Early, a book that helped launch the modern homeschooling movement in the United States, died on July 13, 2007, at the age of 91.
