Rayne

Rayne (Regina), virgin, is recorded by William Worcestre as the titular of a church near Crewkerne (Somerset); St. Rayne's Hill, 2 miles west of the town, recalls this chapel today. She may have been a forgotten local saint, or else St. Regina, an early martyr of Autun, who occurs on 7 September in the Roman Martyrology and the Martyrology of Jerome. Her implausible Legend is based on that of Margaret of Antioch.
