In the 21st century, information is power -- whether on the battlefield or in a bureaucracy. Just ask anyone at defense giant Raytheon's Intelligence and Information Systems (IIS) segment. IIS specializes in signals, imaging, and geospacial intelligence; air and space command and control systems; cybersecurity; high-speed computing and integrated information systems; ground engineering support; and weather data management. It has worked on NOAA's Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System, the US military's Global Broadcast Service (satellite communications), and the FBI's National Data Exchange. IIS, one of six operating segments, accounts for 12% of its parent's overall revenue.
