Real Championship Wrestling (commonly referred to as "RCW") is an independent wrestling promotion based in Baltimore, Maryland, formed in June 2009 by talents, such as, Ruckus, Steve Diaz, Derek Frazier, and others from Maryland Championship Wrestling and Eastern Wrestling Alliance.

RCW hosted their first show on June 14, 2009 entitled The Takeover. [2] Since then RCW has become a tour de force in Maryland and east coast independent wrestling. RCW has boasted named such as Ring of Honor's Briscoe Brothers, Chikara's The Osirian Portal, and indy superstar Ryan McBride, to name a few. [3]
RCW's home arena is the Clarence H. Burns Arena in Canton, Maryland named for former Mayor of Baltimore Clarence H. Burns [4] RCW has hosted all, but their first two shows at the Arena.
At Still Standing in May 2010, RCW began a crossover with Philadelphia, Pennsylvania based promotion Combat Zone Wrestling, but the story line was never followed up after this show. [5]
RCW's Man Up event in December 2010 saw two titles change hands. Shiima Xion defeated Steve Diaz to become the RCW Cruiserweight Champion, and The Osirian Portal became the RCW Tag Team Champions.
The Wrestling Nation, produces short internet videos called Takeover TV, which recap past shows and preview up-coming shows.[1]
