Recco is a comune in the province of Genoa, region of Liguria, Italy. It is known for its focaccia al formaggio (focaccia with cheese) which is made with Crescenza.[2][3] The consortium that dictates the official recipe of the focaccia, supposedly the result of a Saracen attack in the 1200s, is seeking the European Union PGI status for the recipe. Also famous is the September 8 fireworks festival honoring the Virgin Mary. The town is also known for its successful waterpolo team, Pro Recco.
