Red Claw

Red Claw is a fictional character in the Batman universe created for Batman: The Animated Series.

Red Claw debuted in the two-part episode "The Cat and the Claw". They are a group of international assassins. The group takes its name from its leader, a Russian terrorist named "Red Claw" (voiced by Kate Mulgrew). In their debut episode, Red Claw threatened Gotham City with a bioengineered plague. Batman stopped her with help from Catwoman and the Gotham City Police Department, destroyed her organization within the city, and arrested her Gotham-based operatives.

In "The Lion and the Unicorn", Red Claw resurfaced to kidnap Alfred Pennyworth, revealed to be a former British Intelligence agent, and his former partner Frederick to extract a firing code for a super-missile to bring the United Kingdom to its knees. In the end, after a final confrontation with Batman in the Batwing, during which he managed to unmask him without seeing his face, Batman ejected the seat Red Claw was on and she was thrown into the depths of the ocean to a watery grave.

Red Claw has not, to date, appeared in any Batman title outside of the animated series.
