Review

A great album by Swedish stoners Half Man, Red Herring is produced in a classic '60s manner, recalling the sound of Blue Cheer and early Black Sabbath while maintaining a groove throughout that recalls even the tranced-out rock of Spacemen 3 and Spiritualized in parts. From the Swedish rock revival scene that produced Motorphycho, Roachpowder, Grand Magus, Sideburn, and Mammoth Volume, this is an excellent album of retro rock on the Beard of Stars label, who specialize in obscure, heavy, psychedelia from Europe that will appeal to fans of the Kyuss/Queens of the Stoneage/High on Fire sound. ~ Martin Walters, All Music Guide
