Geography Dictionary: reflective beach

A beach which reflects a major part of the incoming wave. Reflective beaches have a convex beach profile, without nearshore bars, which is steeper than the wave it reflects and is typically caused by accretion from swell waves. Reflection may generate edge waves on beaches.
