Reliance MediaWorks (formerly Adlabs Films) (BSE: 532399 NSE: RELMEDIA) is film and entertainment services company based in Mumbai.[5] Reliance MediaWorks operates BIG Cinemas, India's largest cinema chain with over 550 screens spread across India, the United States, Malaysia, Nepal and Netherlands. Its a part of the Reliance ADA group,its international presence with the opening of a dedicated film and media services facility in London[6] that offers front-end, processing, restoration, 2D to 3D conversion and post-production services to broadcasters and studios.[6][7]
The company's Lowry Digital, Burbank, California facility has performed image and detail enhancements, vertical and horizontal alignments issues and 911 emergency fixes for 3D versions of films like Avatar, Journey to the Center of the Earth, U2, X Games 3D: The Movie and Step Up 3D[8]
The company was established in 1975, as Adlabs Films Limited in Mumbai. For processing laboratory primarily catering to the advertising industry. In 2001, the company entered the multiplex business with the world's largest IMAX dome in Mumbai.[9] In 2005, Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group became a majority promoter in Adlabs Ltd.
