Plot

Narrated by Ben Kingsley, each installment in the Religions of the World series offers an in-depth investigation into the practices and theology of a major world religion. Through interviews with experts, examination of artifacts, and dramatic reenactments, the major facets of these faiths are brought to light and explicated. In this particular video, the world of Buddhism is investigated. The story of Siddhartha Gotama is investigated and used as a gateway into discussion of core Buddhist beliefs about nirvana and enlightenment.
