René Philombe

Philombe, René (pseud. of Philippe Louis Ombede) (1930-2001) Cameroonian writer of short stories (Lettres de ma cambuse, 1964), novels (Sola ma chérie, 1969; Un sorcier blanc à Zangali, 1969), plays (Africapolis, 1979), and several collections of poetry. His realism, concern for social justice, and broad humanism have helped to make his writings accessible to a wide audience in Cameroon.
