The Queen of Chilliwack is planned to be retired sometime in the next few years, to be replaced by the Northern Discovery. BC Ferries has not yet released any plans on how large the new ship will be, or if it will be built or bought second-hand.

Several of the K class ferrys that had served as Albion ferries are retired and for sale after the opening of the Golden Ears Bridge in 2009.
