Plot

The cheerleading team at Aloha High are popular with their fellow students (except for a couple of stuck-up rich girls), but they're a major cause of the school's lecherous reputation for underage sex and drug abuse. The fun-loving gals spike the lunchroom spaghetti sauce with a concoction of pot, pills, and powders, hold wild orgies in the boys' locker room, and never bother to attend their classes. The school board considers a merger with Aloha's biggest rivals, the vocational school Lincoln High, but the cheerleaders refuse to mix with the low-class juvenile delinquents that go there. A new principal, ex-Marine Hall Walker (Norman Thomas Marshall), might whip the school into shape, but it'll mean forcing the cheerleaders out of the squad and back into the classroom. Though the girls prove their importance to Aloha spirit at the crucial moment of a big basketball game, it turns out that more sinister forces are at work when the school is blown up and the principal is kidnapped. It's up to the cheerleaders to save the day and unravel a conspiracy to steal Aloha High's land for a shopping mall. Carl Ballantine, David Hasselhoff, and genre vet Rainbeaux Smith appear in this energetic sex comedy. ~ Fred Beldin, Rovi

Review

Fans of softcore sex farces and celebrity watchers alike will adore this amoral, brain-damaged "comedy." A sequel to The Cheerleaders and spiritual kin to a variety of similarly themed pictures, Revenge of the Cheerleaders offers plenty of simulated sex, naked bodies, and raunchy, stupid gags. Not only that, but the action stops several times to allow the cast to indulge in uninhibited choreographed dance sequences too. Fans of David Hasselhoff (and they must exist, at least in Germany) will want to watch the gangly future star in his film debut as a character named "Boner," who not only shows off some embarrassing dance moves but also briefly appears in full and frontal nudity during a shower scene. Rainbeaux Smith was visibly pregnant during the making of the film, a condition that was written in for her character as well, though it doesn't stop her from enjoying marijuana, booze, and group sex like the rest of her squad. The cheerleaders indulge in a little class warfare too, swapping insults with a wealthy daddy's girl and picking fights with the lower-class vocational students at Lincoln High. Though it's more ludicrous than genuinely funny, at least Revenge of the Cheerleaders never stops moving, filling every frame with fires, food fights, car chases, and exuberant sex that's a lot more explicit than one might expect in such a film. This cartoonish feature will be laughed at more than with, but it's never dull, and that spells success for any exploitation picture. ~ Fred Beldin, Rovi
