This video is one of a series produced for the Learning Channel on some of the pivotal events in the American War of Independence. The series is directed by Carol L. Fleisher and narrated by Charles Kuralt. This final volume contains two episodes: "Rebels and Redcoats and "Independence." The first segment tells the courageous story of Massachusetts farmers who put down their farming implements and took up arms against the British. The second episode chronicles the story of the drafting of the Declaration of Independence. Written mainly by Thomas Jefferson, the document reveals Jefferson's sources of inspiration, including the theories of John Locke.
