The Rhode Island House of Representatives is the lower house of the Rhode Island General Assembly, the state legislature of the U.S. State of Rhode Island. It is composed of 75 Representatives from an equal amount of constituencies, each of whom is elected to a two year term. The Rhode Island General Assembly does not have term limits. Leadership of the House
The Speaker of the House presides over the House of Representatives. The Speaker is elected by the majority party caucus followed by confirmation of the full House through the passage of a House Resolution. As well as presiding over the body, the Speaker is also the chief leadership position, and controls the flow of legislation. Other House leaders, such as the majority and minority leaders, are elected by their respective party caucuses relative to their party's strength in the chamber.

This list is of the 2009/2010 Sessions. The 2009 session brought 16 new freshmen to the house chamber, which included downsizing the RI GOP Representatives by 7, leaving it with a mere 6 Representatives. On August 10, 2009 Representative Thomas C. Slater of the 10th District, died after a long battle with cancer. On October 1, 2009 Representative Elizabeth Dennigan of the 62nd District, resigned from the House to focus on running for Congress in Rhode Island's 2nd Congressional District. Both seats will be filled prior to the General Assembly's reconvening in January 2010.
