Note: This State highway is one of four (RI 77, RI 81, RI 177 and RI 179) whose Rhode Island sections only serve the Tiverton/Little Compton area.

History

The section of Route 77 between Route 179 and Route 177 was once part of Route 126, which now runs through the Blackstone Valley.
