Biography

The late-'60s Georgian band Rhodes Scholars played pop-soul-rock with horns, in a somewhat similar style to the Buckinghams or some of early Chicago's more pop-oriented songs. For a time, their lineup included drummer Jimmy Sossamon, who'd been in the somewhat more well-known North Carolina garage/psych band the Cykle, who put out an obscure late-'60s album. A couple of Rhodes Scholars tracks appeared on the Cykle compilation CD Cykle Featuring: the Young Ones. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi
