Size: 1,480 acres. Location: 3 miles southwest of Wausau on US 51. Facilities: 30 campsites, showers, picnic area, enclosed day-use shelter, concessions, hiking trails (13 miles), accessible trails (8 miles), snowmobile trails (10 miles), snowshoe trails (8 miles), playground, scenic vistas, observation tower, outdoor amphitheater. Activities: Camping, hiking, snowshoeing, downhill skiing, hunting, naturalist programs (seasonal). Special Features: One of the oldest geological formations on earth, this billion-year-old hill was long thought to be the highest point in Wisconsin. (It is actually the third-highest point.) The top of the 60-foot observation tower is 700 feet above the surrounding plain.

Rib Mountain State Park is a 1,528-acre (618 ha) Wisconsin state park near the city of Wausau. The park includes a ski resort concession, Granite Peak Ski Area, a reservable amphitheather, and 15.1 miles of trails. The park is ten miles (16 km) north-northwest of Central Wisconsin Airport.
