Riccardo Morandi

 

(1902–89)

Italian civil engineer, renowned for his reinforced-concrete structures, notably the Maracaibo Bridge, Venezuela (1957–62), the Polcevera autostrada viaduct, near Genoa (1960–7), the huge sail-roof of the maintenance hangar, Fiumicino Airport, Rome (1970), and the subterranean car-showroom, Valencia Park, Turin (1959).
