Ricercare

 

Ballet in one act with choreography by Tetley, music by M. Seter, and design by Ter-Arutunian. Premiered 15 Jan. 1966 by American Ballet Theatre at New York's State Theater, with Hinkson and S. Douglas. It is a duet for a man and woman who play out their emotional and erotic tensions on and around Ter-Arutunian's huge curved sculpture. It has been revived for Ballet Rambert (1967) and Royal Swedish Ballet (1970).
