Richard Olen Sommer II, (born February 2, 1978 in Toledo, Ohio), is an American actor, usually credited as Rich Sommer. He is best known as Anne Hathaway's friend Doug in the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada. He has appeared in commercials for Nextel, Sprint and Bud Light, among other products. In 2007 he appeared in an episode of Law & Order. A pilot called Mad Men has been picked up by AMC.

He is originally from Stillwater, Minnesota, and went to college at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, where he majored in theater and sang in the world renowned Concordia Choir. He studied improv work at the Brave New Workshop in Minneapolis and started an improv group, the Slush Puppies, in Moorhead. He received his MFA in acting from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Virginia, with whom he is expecting his first child. Sommer works as a temp when not acting. He also maintains a blog at Vox, which he began using as a beta tester.
