Richard Alexis Zann

Dr Richard Alexis Zann is a noted Australian ornithologist. After taking his PhD in 1972 at the University of Queensland he moved to Latrobe University. The species that has been the the main focus of his ornithological research is the Zebra Finch. In 1998 he was awarded the D.L. Serventy Medal by the Royal Australasian Ornithologists Union for outstanding published work on birds in the Australasian region. he is also known for his studies on island biogeography on Krakatau, Indonesia.
