During the World Series of Poker of 2006, he said that the red squiggly underline marking misspelled words in Microsoft Word was his idea.[citation needed] His recent exploits on the World Poker Tour can be seen at his blog.[citation needed] As of 2006, his total live tournament winnings exceed $180,000. Richard is a Full Tilt Poker pro and he plays under the screenname "Quiet Lion".[citation needed] He appeared on NBC's game show Identity in 2007.[citation needed]

In May 2007, Harrah's banned Brodie from the company's casinos in Nevada, California, and Arizona.[3] He was also barred from the World Series of Poker. According to Brodie's blog, on June 8 Harrah's executives relented and said that the was ban a mistake.[citation needed]

At the 2009 World Series of Poker, he placed 10th in one of the preliminary events, but did not make the cut for the main event.[citation needed] He then hit a $37,000 jackpot on a penny slot machine.[citation needed]
