Richard A. D'Aveni is Professor of Strategic Management at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
D'Aveni is well known for pioneering the study of Hypercompetition. Under Hypercompetition, the quickening pace in many industries makes competitive advantage is no longer sustainable using traditional paradigms. As each firm attempts to copy the best practices of other industry players, the firms become more efficient, but no more profitable.
In addition to his work in the area of competitive strategy, he has won the following awards: Forum Fellow, World Economic Forum; A.T. Kearney Award; Richard D. Irwin Foundation Fellowship; Sol C. Snider Entrepreneurial Center Fellow, Wharton School.
