History

The Richard F Irvine riverboat was named after a Disney executive. It was the 2nd Riverboat to enter into service on the Rivers of America at the Magic Kingdom. Its counterpart, the Admiral Joe Fowler Riverboat, served from October 2, 1971 through 1980. The Richard F Irvine was completely refurbished and returned to service in 1996 as the Liberty Belle Riverboat. The Liberty Belle underwent an extensive rehab lasting from Sept 2005 to Sept 2006 and is now back plying the waterways of the Magic Kingdom.
