Richard Garneau

Richard Garneau, C.M., C.Q. (born 15 July 1930 in Quebec City) is a Canadian sports journalist and writer in Quebec. He is best known as the host of La Soirée du hockey, the very popular ice hockey television show in Quebec. He also worked on many French-language Olympic broadcasts for SRC.

In 1999, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as a broadcaster.

In 2000, he was made a Knight of the National Order of Quebec. In 2005, he was made a Member of the Order of Canada.
