Richard Herbert Sheppard

British architect. He established Richard Sheppard, Robson, & Partners with Geoffrey Robson (1918–91) in London. The firm's work includes Churchill College, Cambridge (1959–73), the School of Navigation, University of Southampton (1959–66), buildings for Loughborough University, Leics. (1961–6), Digby Hall, University of Leicester (1958–62), West Midlands College of Education, Gorway, Walsall, Staffs. (1964–72), buildings for Imperial College, South Kensington, London (1964–8), the City University, St John Street, Clerkenwell, London (1969–76), and the Lymington Road Housing Development, Hampstead, London (1978). More recently, the firm elegantly refurbished Arup's offices in Fitzrovia, London (2000–4), and the Salvation Army Headquarters, City of London, between St. Paul's Cathedral and the Millennium Bridge.
