  • Genres: Vocal Music
  • Instrument: Arranger

Biography

A producer, arranger, and orchestra director since the early '40s, Richard Jones assisted mightily in the creation of comedian Jackie Gleason's series of lounge albums in the following decade. He should not be confused with the Broadway producer of the same name from the same approximate era, nor the British theater director of the same name who began creating controversy in the '90s. Controversy would be the last thing to crop up in a Jones string arrangement, the sort of stuff that makes easy listening so difficult. ~ Eugene Chadbourne, All Music Guide
