Biography

The Broadway producer Richard Jones helmed some of the most famous shows in the history of musical theater, including The Music Man in 1957, The Unsinkable Molly Brown in 1960, and Funny Girl in 1964. He is not the same Jones whose adventurous work as a director in the '90s brought forth a startled response from Stephen Sondheim, but there is bound to be confusion since the latter Jones wound up directing a revival of The Music Man in the '90s. ~ Eugene Chadbourne, All Music Guide
