Day 1

Richard "Rick" Marc Allen is a fictional character on the television series 24.

Day 1

Rick is one of the two guys that Janet York and Kim Bauer meet for what they think is going to be a party. Unbeknownst to them, Ira Gaines hired Allen and his friend Dan Mounts to kidnap Kim and bring her to his compound so Gaines could use her as leverage against her father. However, Rick starts defying Dan as things start to get serious. He realises he is jeopardy when Gaines shoots Dan for failing to kill Janet.

When he learns why Gaines really hired him, he starts to assist Kim and Teri Bauer with their escape, including giving them a gun. When Jack shows up on the compound, Rick is able to assist Jack in helping his family escape. Jack organises for Rick to be rescued with Kim and Teri, but realising he will probably go to jail for kidnapping (plus, he is on a bond as it is), Rick leaves the meeting place organised by Jack and instead boards a bus.

Kim has his telephone number and later in the day phones him from the safe house after her rescue to convince Rick to do the right thing and turn himself in, but Rick refuses. When Teri and Kim are separated following a car crash, Kim turns up at Rick's home for help and inadvertently becomes part of a drug deal being conducted there. It is actually a drug bust and Kim is arrested. Rick's girlfriend Melanie is hostile to Kim at first, and later blames her for being part of the drug bust. After Kim stands up for Melanie during an argument in their lockup cell Melanie recants her story to the police and tells them Kim was not involved in the drug deal. After this the police decided to call the CTU number Kim had given them, after which Kim's true identity was corroborated and she was released.

Rick was last seen at the police station with Kim prior to her removal to the lockup cell. He told a reluctant Kim to tell the police the entire truth about her earlier kidnapping and its connection to Palmer's planned assassination.
