Rise Up (R. Kelly song)
"Rise Up" is a 2007 song by R&B singer R. Kelly. It is featured on his eighth studio album, Double Up. Kelly wrote the song as a tribute to the victims of the Virginia Tech massacre, as well as Hurricane Katrina and the September 11, 2001 attacks. It was released on May 15, 2007. The song is relatively unknown outside North America.
All proceeds from the song will be donated to a Virginia Tech charity, called the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund.[1]
