Ritter Gluck

Ritter Gluck, a story by E. T. A. Hoffmann, first published in the Allgemeine Musik-Zeitung in 1809 and then in the first volume of his Fantasiestücke in Callots Manier in 1814. With remarkable realism of detail and verisimilitude of narration, Hoffmann exhibits the madness of a musician who believes himself to be the composer C. W. Gluck.
