Biography

Austin, TX hardcore supergroup the River City Rapists assembled frontman John Motard, guitarists Doug Didjit and Gable Barber, Butthole Surfers bassist Jeff Pinkus and drummer Jay Gordon. The subject of immediate local controversy thanks to their shock-value name, the group debuted in 1998 with a self-titled ten-inch for Man's Ruin, followed a year later by the Junk Records release Love Hurts. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
