Rivera Pharmacy was founded in 1964 by Raymond Chow.
History of Raymond Chow
Raymond Chow was born and raised in Mississippi where he attended a segregated school. He worked through his childhood on a farm with many other minorities, he actually picked cotton. He taught himself to multiply, divide, add, and subtract by first grade. He attended the University of Houston where he earned his Pharmaceutical license. While in college he took 21 units while working full time to support himself. He then moved to California in 1963 where he worked at Encino Pharmacy where he met John Wayne. He later opened his own pharmacy in Pico Rivera, CA with help from his uncle. Rivera Pharmacy was founded in 1964 and is still in business with Raymond Chow as the original owner.
