The Riverside Opera Ensemble is a Manhattan based New
York City music theatre company founded in 1984. Since 2001 it
is dedicated to the development performance of new works. Founded by Nathan Ray Matthews, the
company has produced new works by various composers including David Del Tredici,
Stephen Dembski, Patrick Byers and Richard Pearson Thomas. The company has received praise and notice by publications such as The New York Times
