After the war, he rejoined RKO, and later Paramount Studios in 1952, where he began his collaborations with Wyler in films including Carrie (1952), Roman Holiday (1953), and Funny Girl (1968). After retiring in 1989, Swink was honored with a lifetime achievement award by the American Cinema Editors, which was presented to him by Gregory Peck.
