Robert Cole Williams (born October 2, 1962 in Galveston, Texas) is a former American football defensive back who played professionally in the National Football League.
A standout running back at Galveston's Ball High School, Williams was a 1981 recruit for Baylor University, where he played for Grant Teaff. A 5-foot-10 running back in college, Williams signed with the Washington Redskins as an undrafted rookie free agent wide receiver. He was waived in August 1986.
He signed with the Dallas Cowboys in 1987 during the NFL players' strike. When the strike ended, Williams remained with the team, and spent seven seasons with the Cowboys, starting 36 games between 1987 and 1991 as a cornerback and safety.
A member of the Cowboys' 1992 and 1993 Super Bowl teams, Williams signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in December 1993, but was waived in March 1994. He signed with the Washington Redskins in August 1994, but was waived in training camp.
He finished his career with four interceptions.
Today, he's an assistant football coach at Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas[citation needed].
