In this sword-and-sorcery/sci-fi combo, robots have taken over and the few humans not under the domination of the evil "Dark One," are plotting a rebellion. So it's guys with swords against robots with zap guns in this unlikely clasher. ~ All Movie Guide
Review
Robot Holocaust is a silly and rather horrible affair that's one good old schlocky time for like-minded fans of outrageous cinema. If the plot sounds familiar enough for you, it's because on a really basic level, it's The Matrix wrapped in a smelly straight-to-video burrito. You have the main character, Neo, who rebels against robots who have enslaved the whole human race, though nowhere in the Wachowskis' script was there a C-3PO clone, who unfortunately is all over this junker. Actually, the one and only reason to bask in this old Wizard Video release is for the brilliantly awful performance from Angelika Jager (in her one credited screen appearance) as the future's number-one fashion victim queen, Valaria. Featuring an astounding French accent that sounds a little like a mentally deficient '80s debutante, Angelika proves to be a gem in the rough for Tim Kincaid and his fourth feature from 1987, Robot Holocaust. With cheap sets and goofy robots filling the space between Ms. Jager and her many feather boas, this flick fills up a brisk 90 minutes like it was nothing. If the brothers Wachowski ever did see this movie, then they're all the better now because of it...in so many ways. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, All Movie Guide
