Review

Direct Source's Rock Revival: Rockin' Around the Clock is a ten-song mishmash of the rock & roll sound of the '50s and early '60s. The packaging and sound are not great but the music is. Ranging from R&B to bubblegum to sunshine pop, the disc is made up of wonderful party music like Bill Haley & His Comets' "Rock Around the Clock," Wilbert Harrison's "Kansas City" and Chubby Checker's "The Twist" as well as romantic tunes like the Turtles' "Happy Together." It plays like 30 minutes of a really good oldies station. The biggest problem with the disc is that it is way too short, leaving you wanting much more. ~ Tim Sendra, All Music Guide
