Rockaway Parkway is a commercial street in the Canarsie neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. It begins at Foster Avenue in Canarsie, intersects Linden Boulevard and Flatlands Avenue, runs under the Belt Parkway, and ends by the Canarsie Pier. Northbound and southbound traffic are in some places separated by a central meridian. Rockaway Parkway originated as an 18th century road to the Canarsie Ferry. Canarsie High School, as well as a firehouse, and several homes and businesses are on Rockaway Parkway. The Rockaway Parkway station is the terminus of the Manhattan bound L train. The B42 bus runs primarily through Rockaway Parkway, and riders can get on free when they get on the first stop, which is at the Rockaway Pkwy. station. See also Rockaway Parkway Line.
