Rockland Lake State Park

Rockland Lake State Park is located in the hamlet of Congers, which is in the eastern part of the Town of Clarkstown in Rockland County, New York. The park sits between the west bank of the Hudson River and Route 9W. Developed and opened to the public in the early 1960s, the park is a part of the Palisades Interstate Park system. Its amenities include two olympic-sized swimming pools, a Nature Center, a fishing and boating area, and a three-mile paved loop around Rockland Lake that is used by local runners and walkers. An annual "Self-Transcendence Marathon" is staged on the loop by members of Sri Chinmoy's organization in New York City.
