Roderick Dwayne Coleman (born August 16, 1976 in Vicksburg, Mississippi) is a Defensive Tackle for the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL. Coleman played college football at East Carolina.
High School Years
Coleman attended Simon Gratz High School (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) and won varsity letters in football and track and field and was an honor student.
External Involvement
Outside of his football career, Coleman has a commitment to children snd the community. He is currently developing franchised day care facilities called Angels Academy (http://www.angelsacademies.com). The first center, in South Fulton County (GA) is due to open in early 2008. Angels Academy is committed to developing a strong educational foundation for children rooted in morals and ethics and nourished by lifelong learning skills.
Additioanlly, Coleman established the Rod Coleman Foundation (http://www.rodcolemanfoundation.org/) which was organized to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged children. The foundation provides support and life skills to youth in group homes, detention centers, and any other lawful purpose.
