Roderick James "Jess" McMahon (b. May 26 1882, Queens, New York - d. November 22 1954, Wilkes-Barre, Pa) was a professional wrestling and professional boxing promoter. He is the patriarch of the McMahon wrestling family. He is most famous for co-promoting the World Boxing Association match between Jess Willard and then-champion Jack Johnson in a 45-round fight.

He started promoting wrestling shows in 1935. He stated in the DVD "The Most Powerful Families In Wrestling" that he was disowned for promoting wrestling. His son Vincent James McMahon took over the family business, starting the World Wide Wrestling Federation upon Jess McMahon's death at age 72.

His grandson Vincent Kennedy McMahon currently runs WWE. Jess's great-grandchildren Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon also work for the company. He has great-great grandchildren because Shane and Stephanie both have children of their own. Shane and his wife Marissa have two sons, Declan and Kenyon, and Stephanie and her husband Paul Levesque have a daughter, Aurora Rose.
