Rodolfo Vantini

(1791–1856)

Italian architect. He designed the spectacularly noble cemetery, Brescia (begun 1815), the earliest of the great C19 monumental cemeteries in Italy. In it he combined the cylinder covered with Pantheon-dome with the Greek Doric Order. Other works include the Porta Venezia, Milan (1827–33). He was one of the most accomplished Neo-Classicists of his generation.
