Roger Yuan is a Los Angeles-born actor, martial artist, stunt man and fight choreographer. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California Los Angeles.[1] Yuan is a black belt in Chun Kuk Do (a martial art originating from Chuck Norris).[2] He was also a member of Chuck Norris's United Fighting Arts Federation (UFAF) and was the UFAF Middleweight Champion at various times in between 1989 and 1996.[3] Yuan is perhaps most well known for his role as Inspector Chiang Kohung in the 2009 mainstream Bollywood film Chandni Chowk to China, in which he learned to speak Hindi. Yuan also appeared alongside Jackie Chan in Shanghai Noon and has had roles in films such as Syriana, Batman Begins, Lethal Weapon 4 and Bulletproof Monk. He has also performed stunts for films such as Spawn, Blade,[4] and Black Dynamite. Contrary to the characters he plays on-screen, English is his first language, which he is able to speak eloquently and accent-less, and better than some of the languages he has had to learn for his other roles (e.g. Hindi, Mandarin, Cantonese).[5]
He currently resides in Ireland (Wicklow).[6]
