Rognan is a village and the administrative centre of the municipality of Saltdal in Nordland county, Norway. The village is located at the innermost part of the in the Skjerstadfjorden, called the Saltdalsfjorden. It is located about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) north of the village of Røkland.[3]
Local industry includes the optical cable factory of Nexans Norway and Hepro. The Nordlandsbanen railway line and the European route E06 both pass through the village. Rognan Station is the local railway station. Saltdal Church is located in this village. The 3-square-kilometre (740-acre) village has a population (2011) of 2,526. The population density of the village is 842 inhabitants per square kilometre (2,180 /sq mi).[1]
