Biography

Dedicated to folk and country blues since discovering them as a teen, Rollie Tussing is considered one of the finest slide guitarists in the States. A dedicated historian of the music -- as well as an accomplished practitioner -- Tussing has traveled the South collecting recordings and traditions, including a tutorial with renowned Mississippi blues guitarist Eugene Powell. His reputation as a slide player was confirmed after winning the prestigious National Slide Guitar Competition in 2001. Blow Whistle Blow, Tussing's 1998 debut, featured the singer/songwriter's country, blues, and folk songs alongside a selection of country blues standards. ~ Wade Kergan, All Music Guide
