Classical Literature Companion: Roman age of Greek literature

Roman age of Greek literature, term used to describe Greek literature written from the time when Rome subjugated the Mediterranean world, i.e. from the second half of the second century BC to AD 529, when the emperor Justinian closed the schools of philosophy at Athens and ended the long history of that city as the focus of Greek intellectual life and culture.
